What's up UA-cam?!?! I'm Robert and this is the B1KER Channel. This channel is all about riding bikes, laughing at myself and others, as well as having a few beers afterwards. I'm a down to earth guy that drops his fair share of F-bombs among other inappropriate things. I post POV or How To type videos and I also do a weekly podcast on my other channel B1KER Bar. The guests include other youtubers, professional riders, and biking related companies. You can watch that there live on UA-cam or catch the podcast afterwards on any of the major apps. So, sit back, grab a beer, and hang out for a while. When you are done, remember, it only takes a bike to be a biker, so get out and be one!
What other YouTubers won't Say! - Bentonville Bike Fest & Riding Review
Bentonville claims to be the mountain bike capitol of the world. To many this is a stretch. With an open mind I headed over to the Bentonville Bike Fest to see for myself what this fest and it's surrounding trails are like.

In the summer of 2020 I realized I needed to make some major changes in my life. I decided I wanted to lose 80lbs and would do a vlog series on my channel chronicaling the journey. Unfortunatley 4 years later I was still trying to hit that goal. This is the story of me finally figuring out what I was doing wrong and starting the journey the right way. ►Featured Links Nothing to see here... ►Cha...

This trail system is flying under the radar! - Ashland, Oregon
Переглядів 6 тис.6 місяців тому
I've wanted to go to Ashland for a long time. A buddy of mine was trying to think of somewhere fun we could go for his birthday so we hit road. After 4 hours of driving we found ourselves in Ashland, Oregon. With only one day to ride we put in two shuttle laps that clocked in 32 miles of riding. My expectations were exceeded. ►Disclaimer Links featured in Show More are #AffiliateLinks that earn...
Don't miss this classic Tahoe ride! - Hole in the Ground
Переглядів 2,5 тис.6 місяців тому
The first time I ever rode in the Tahoe region it was at Hole in the Ground and it really opened my mind to what riding in the Sierras was like. It scared me just as much as it made me excited. The tech was awesome but on the other hand the climbs were a lot of work. From there I was on a mission to ride as many new high elevation rides as I could and somehow over 10 years passed without me ret...

Way cheaper than the Fenix but is Venu 2 worth it? - 90 Second Review
Thanks for appreciating Bentonville for what it is. That roll in to Berm Creek always feels janky.
After I got over the initial stage fright I was good and just started sending it deeper.
Just as bad as the Stans darts which are cheaper but just as rubbish
I’ve heard!
As a fellow big guy. I sent my coil shock to avalanche racing suspension out of Connecticut. Holy cow man you give him your bike weight riding style and he completely rebuilds it for you and your bike. I love my coil shock for my evil offering.
EXT does that out of the box!
Man I’m so glad I got back into mtb. As of January 2024 I was 330 lbs and hadn’t rode my bike in 6 months. Not to injury but just from lack of motivation. Has of today 7/5/24 I am down to 255 and have been riding as much as I can and makes is way easier to bike and so glad I came back across your channel. You got it brother now have motivated me even more to get down in the 220s
Wow, great job. Keep it going 🤘
Nothing better than hearing these a-hole “influencers” complain about how amazing Bentonville is. 😅😅😅
Wait until ya here me bitch about Bellingham!
@@B1KER 🥲🥲🥲
Awesome video brotha!
Thanks for watching
90 seconds only telling these tubes are expensive. Yeah, like that’s a fact I didn’t know before…
🤘
It is extremely difficult to overcome one's biology. We evolved always being on the brink of starvation. So we naturally crave salt, fat and sugar. Remember discipline is doing something you don't want to do. Changing lifestyle/habits is very difficult. Once that change becomes normal it becomes much easier but it takes a while. I don't have a e-mtb so can't say from experience but others that do have said it has made them more fit cause they ride much more, more often. Just don't let the e-bike do all the work. Maybe the new Nebo could do it. Be more active in your regular everyday stuff. For example when parking at work or a store, instead of parking closer to the door park at the farthest spot, instead of elevators take the stairs. Those nickles and dimes adds up to dollars.
Right on 🤘
The Cuyuna area in Minnesota is kinda like this
My buddy told me about that place!
@@B1KER you should ride there sometime!
You caught me on your video walking into the Bentonville Bike Fest right in front of you! Too funny! We were both probably at Sedona as well. Dang tornado totaled out my bike van though. Ride on!
Ah man that sucks! See ya at Shredona next year 🤘
I think its the variety and how embedded mountain biking is in the community that makes it the mountain bike capital of the world.
I hear ya.
Spend some time at hand cut hollow or back 40 next time. Those have the more natural feel you may like.
I’ve heard! Will do for sure 👍
I agree with everything you said. I have tons of natural trails near me in the St Louis area but the features and jumps are more limited or on intimidating runs. Bentonville takes a person that doesn’t do jumps and gives you baby steps. Literally you will see tiny kids doing the beginner jumps and say to yourself, “why not?” Next thing you’re doing blue rated jump lines, casing some but maybe clearing some and still feeling comfortable. So many riders around me say their wheels don’t leave the ground. I dare them to go to Bentonville and not try some drops or jumps.
Yeah, it definitely walks you right into it.
I am not a mt biker but I ride a ebike and a Harley Tri Glide but that looked so cool at the fest. Sorry for the Storm I pray no one was hurt.
Unfortunately some people did, but I don’t think anyone at the fest.
Enjoyed your video. Good luck.
Everything you didn’t like is exactly why I want to go there. We have nothing but pedally/rocky cross country or long natural janky tech, I’d love some fast flow trails.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still fun. 🤘
Just stumbled on your channel with this video. Thanks. Never been to B’ville, but it’s on the list. Just moved to the top of the list, especially with my terminally intermediate wife and 7y/o son. Seeems right up their alley. 🤜👍
It would be perfect for that. You would all have a blast.
Thing about PA is we don't really have "runs" like out west unless you're in a few select places, or a bike park. It's more XC style traversing loops with climbing and descending intermixed, people going both ways on the trail, and def. technical AF. You really need to keep your speed/momentum up in our tech and let the 29in wheels do their thing. Going slow is a lot more work and effort than just going up a gear and feeling the burn in your legs for a couple mins. Also, you forgot to mention that fully rigid, no dropper bike likely had 26in wheels too, which is also WAY harder, lol. In my opinion, the best kind of MTB for this area is a 29in, 120 rear, 130 front, short chain stays and not something super slack because of the tight trees and often winding trail layouts. I was riding a fully rigid Surly Krampus for a couple years and the looks people give you today with everyone on an enduro bike is hilarious.. Especially when I pass them.
Right on, good stuff!
Loved NWA so much we moved here and honestly the hardest part about living here is trying to figure out what to ride everyday, I need like a spinning wheel or something to point me in a direction lol. I was helping out a local shop at the Fest and the devastation was just so unreal. Great job on the video, spot on for sure!!
Right on man, that’s awesome 🤘
Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
I think this is a fairly typical take for a rider with a limited skill set and a UA-cam channel. You allude to “higher level” riders not having much to enjoy here, I take umbrage with that. True higher level riders are able to take trails that seem mundane to riders such as yourself and get creative with them. Is Bentonville MY MTB Capital of the World? Easy answer, no. However, the majority of riders, as a percentage, are lower level riders and don’t really prefer to ride mountains. A place like Bentonville provides more opportunity, for riders of varying skill levels, than anywhere in the world and that’s why it’s the MTB Capital of the World. Now, if you claim to be a “high level” rider and felt it wasn’t challenging enough for you, I’d love to show you around next time you’re in town.
I hear ya. I got some great recommendations of what to check out next time.
Man, this was really well put together video! Taking notes! Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Went to Bentonville this past spring, for first time, with the family! We absolutely loved it and being close due to living in SC Kansas, it will now be part of our regular travels! Mountain biking FTW!
Great to hear!
Love what Evan said about the hammer... it's unlocked so much more in my mind, progess in mtb is so rewarding.
I can totally imagine. Maybe someday. 🤷♂️
For long and tech near Bentonville, there's a downhill park with shuttle in Eureka at Lake Leatherwood. Those trails are insane!
I'll have to check it out next time!
Nice clickbait title. "What other youTubers won't say about Bentonville", and the video is basically what every other UA-camr says about Bentonville.
I feel like other youtubers have made it sound more epic and it's really just a fun place to ride.
Don’t want to sound mean but it is not and never will be the mtb capital. Like saying its going to take over California and Napa valley as the wine country capital. It’s great they are creating a great riding area for all but too many places try and lay claim to titles like this. You either have the terrain and scene to create it or you dont its that simple.
I don't think that's mean...it's reality!
I've been wanting to get to Bentonville for years. This video makes me want to go even more!
It's definitely worth the trip!
What trail is this?
Christmas Valley in South Lake Tahoe: ua-cam.com/video/pxsKzW2u8HY/v-deo.html
Can't wait to be able to go out there and ride.
Always fun!
Bentonville looks like an amazing place for biking, and it's definitely on my bucket list for places I want to ride someday
It's a good one for the bucket list.
First time ive stumbled across your channel! What part of the Sac area are you in? Im Roseville born and raised and got into mtb riding only a few years ago.
I'm in East Sac.
Looks like my kinda place to ride! Trouble is it is really far from anywhere I'm at, and I don't think worth the travel given the other places I can ride that are closer, like the entire southwest, and where I live in BC, and winter in Tucson.
Every place has something special about it. It's definitely worth a trip. Don't go expecting something epic. But it'll be fun.
I'd consider everything in an hour drive from Bentonville to be the "area" of NW Arkansas. Bentonville is an important part of the story, but not the whole thing. There is PLENTY more riding outside of the hyper concentrated and beautifully groomed hundreds of miles of Bentonville/Bella Vista trails. Mt Nebo has 1000 vertical feet of loose and chawnky descent. Hobbs has some cool loops. Kessler Mtn is pretty chunky and natural. Devil's Den is awesome. Those are just a few spots within day trip range. And you have hundreds of miles of trail in the Ouachita national Forest 3 hours away and another absolutely pristine trail system (Northwoods) in Hot Springs.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to venture out from the city. I've read a bunch of comments like this and look forward to checking that out another time!
Can't be the mountain bike capitol of the world if you ain't got no mountains! I'm just kidding! Bentonville looks like a blast. I grew up in the Rockies, so it's ingrained to poke fun at what folks on the eastern side of the US call mountains, but I would be stoked to visit.
LOL, I hear ya. I grew up in PA and what we called mountains compared to what I regularly ride in NorCal nowadays is a huge difference.
Are you still using these? Have you tried Fox launch or launch elite knee pads?
I still buy these for my lightweight wear most of the time pads.
@@B1KER cool. What do you use for heavier wear?
Are you still using these?
The newer ones, but yes.
It's really too bad Bentonville is in Arkansas.
LOL, great point!
ooooo, that’s a spicy line in xmas valley. i had to walk away from that one.
I defintiely used all of my travel on the exit. LOL!
Ice ! Hope everyone survived that storm and are doing good ! I wouldn’t consider Bentonville east coast though. It’s southern Midwest .
Yeah, that's the Californian in me talking. You are totally right!
@@B1KER It does seem like a nice place for bikes. I have to be honest though my understanding is that a Walton family member or two from the Walmart clan has financed the trail system there which is good just wish they took better care of the employees.
It may not be the true "Mountain Bike Capitol of the world" ,but it sure is the most fun for every type of rider from beginner to expert/pro rider!
It’s definitely a good time, but extremely limited for the higher skill sets.
Good video but a lot of click bait. It is not any big mountain stuff
That’s exactly what I said!
Awesome video and it was great meeting you at berm creek.
Right on man! Thanks for the camera work. The clip made it in the cut too!
@B1KER yeah I noticed! It was awesome haha
Did you ride Bella Vista. It's literally across the highway and has many miles on unmanicured trails. As a 57 year old UA-camr, I have no issue sending it on jumps. Maybe it's time to learn how to jump better...🤪 You don't have to go huge, but at least good enough to clear all these medium sized tables. Trust me, you will enjoy it a lot more. I mean that's why I absolutely love Bentonville, all the amazing jumps!!! Those Tornadoes sucked. We were in an Airbnb without a basement which was scary!
I’ll have to check out Bella Vista next time.
